Events

Birdhouse CompetitionMay 24, 2019 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Design and build a birdhouse, and enter it into our second annual birdhouse competition! Cash prizes for the winners! Birdhouses can be turned in May 24th from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. All birdhouse entries will be displayed at our Water Festival on Saturday, May 25th. Click on the link for more details and for the entry form.

Calling all waterwise wizards! Check out this year’s water festival at our new location! Come dressed as a wizard to claim your free wand! Wizard-themed activities for the kids. Free hot dog for the first 500 guests. Enter to win a kayak. Check out the birdhouses on display from the birdhouse competition. Click on the link for more details.

Dealing with DeerMay 18th, 10:00-11:00 am

Instructor: Julia Tuck – Former USU Extension Employee

If you live along the bench or near a natural body of water, you likely know first-hand how damaging deer can be to your property. Is there anything that can be done to protect your yard from deer? Yes there is! Come and learn what you can do to lessen the damage.

Fairy GardensJune 1st, 10:00-11:00 am

Instructor: Sam Adams- McCoard's Garden Center

Build your own fairy garden, and you just might get some little visitors. What better way to gain experience with plants than by creating and caring for your own little garden made just for fairies. This class will teach you how to make a small garden and some fun accessories for it. A demonstration container garden will be created right before your eyes. Adults and children are welcome to attend.

Getting ready to install or upgrade your landscape? This introductory design class will show you how to landscape where you live. Learn what you can do to give your yard more curb appeal and reduce maintenance at the same time.

Kids' Classes

Growing VegetablesJune 5th, 2019 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM

Instructor: Central Utah Gardens Staff

Get the summer started with a memorable education experience! Children will learn about different vegetables and how much fun growing their own vegetables can be. Each child will get to plant their own vegetable seed to bring home and take care of! Geared towards children ages 5-11. A parent or guardian must accompany the children. Adults do not need a ticket to attend. Class is 30-45 mins long.

Animals & Water June 12th, 2019 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM

Instructor: Wild Wonders

Water is important to all forms of life, but did you know that many animals have learned how to use water sparingly? Children will learn about some of these animals and what they do to conserve. Be prepared to see and touch several animal friends in this class! Geared toward ages 5-11. A parent or guardian must accompany the children. Adults do not need a ticket to attend. Class is 45-60 mins long.
